As we celebrate Black History Month, we remember that visionary leaders in civil rights, such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Nat Turner, Josiah Henson, Sojourner Truth, and many more before them, had the clarity of vision - they had the ability to look beyond the injustices that were being inflicted upon their people to a brighter future, to a world of freedom, justice, equality. In believing in the possibility of the attainment of the dream of abolition, suffrage, income equality, access to education, and much more, they "put feet to their prayers," and took right action. For this courage, they are and ever shall be remembered throughout the world's history.
We have the same spiritual gift within us. Imagination swings wide the gate of possibility, and we are so blessed. You and I have access to a world - a Universe - of infinite possibilities, and we know in Unity that the mental images we construct now with the mind's eye - and hold in consciousness - shall come forth into full expression in our living experience. In all our affairs, we make room for more good to make itself manifest through us. This is the grace of God fulfilled in you and me. There is more to Life than what appears, for spiritual substance is present, active, and vibrant in all things.
Our well-being is assured, and we prosper when we accept the limitless God-love and Omnipresent supply that surrounds us, when we allow that comforting Presence to warm us like a hug, and when we share that love with others. Look beyond what may appear on the surface, and simply let love flow. Take loving action! Flash a smile to a stranger; ask the clerk at the grocery counter how his or her day is going; ask someone you don't know who may have a physical disability if they need help; offer to recycle a neighbor's old newspapers; compliment a driver on how well he or she parked; "pay it forward" with the customer's meal behind you at the drive-thru; leave a stack of quarters on top of a machine at the laundromat... You "get the picture," I'm sure: Make the commitment to perform a Random Act of Kindness. Let the world be your Valentine today!
Love and Light,
Daryn L. Wells
